Changes to apprenticeship funding coming from 1st April 2024
Great news! From the 1st April 2024, small businesses will have all apprenticeship costs covered by the government. For all apprentices aged 16-21 the training will now be fully funded.
Apprenticeship levy paying employers will also benefit from these changes. The government will increase funding for levy paying employers and can transfer unused levy funds to other employers – meaning more people and more organisations can access the benefits of hiring an apprentice. Under the new measures, large employers who pay the apprenticeship levy will be able to transfer up to 50% of their funds to support other businesses, including smaller firms, to take on apprentices.
