Vacancy Description:
Duties will include:
- To act as a PE Teaching Assistant, supporting teachers in the delivery of PE lessons
- Engage the most inactive young people, helping them to develop the skills, knowledge and enjoyment to participate in PE and school sport
- Support the delivery of extra-curricular clubs, active break times and lunchtimes
- Deliver interventions on a one-to-one or small group basis, using physical activity to achieve other outcomes such as improving behaviour, attendance and handwriting
- Undertake administrative tasks such as arranging participation in sports competitions and festivals
- To act as a responsible member of school staff on trips, fixtures and events
- To be responsible for sports equipment, display boards and promotion of physical and sports activities within the school
- Support young leaders and sports ambassadors in their roles
- Develop new interventions and activities which will engage parents and children in physical activity, such as health councils
- Work in partnership with community and voluntary organisations to support the development of school sport and physical activity within the school
- Use insight and data to support interventions and evidence the impact of this
- Undertake safeguarding and first aid training and any other training needs as identified by the school
- Undertake any other duties deemed appropriate to the role
