Role Overview

This position is an integral part of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team, supporting the education, care, and welfare of children under the guidance of designated teachers. The role offers opportunities for involvement in broader school activities, making it ideal for candidates interested in contributing to various aspects of school life.

Key Responsibilities

You will assist in preparing learning materials, supporting group and individual activities within and outside the classroom, and addressing pupils’ medical, personal, social, and behavioural needs. Responsibilities also include:

• Promoting student achievement and self-esteem.
• Maintaining confidentiality and following school routines and procedures.
• Supporting curriculum delivery, including setting up and organizing resources, including IT.
• Ensuring pupils can safely and effectively use provided equipment and materials.
• Facilitating pupil movement and participating in school-wide activities such as assemblies, lunch breaks, and school events.

Additionally, you will contribute to health, hygiene, and first aid needs, assist in maintaining displays and resources, and perform administrative tasks to support teaching and learning. Feedback to teachers, participation in professional training, and adherence to the school’s health and safety protocols are also expected.

Educational Requirements:

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 (C) or higher.

Future Prospects

This position is initially available on a full-time, fixed-term contract. Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there is the possibility of an ongoing position, which will be discussed at the appropriate time.
