TaxAssist - Junior Accountant and Tax Apprentice
Brief overview of the role
TaxAssist Accountants are a national franchised network of accountants across the UK delivering accounting and tax services to independent business owners. Each branch provides accounting and taxation support services to local businesses and individuals.
We are looking to recruit a Junior Accountant and Tax Apprentice to support all members of the finance team whilst working accurately towards strict targets and deadlines.

- Bookkeeping
- Work accurately towards strict targets and deadlines
- Employer Payrolls
- Handling client enquiries and payments both face to face and by telephone
- General administrative duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning of documentation
- Preparation of self assessment tax returns and the associated income tax calculations
- VAT return preparation
- Keeping records up to date
- Year-end accounts preparation (sole trader & partnership businesses)
- Support the finance team with all other financial tasks as and when required
As a Junior, all your client work will be reviewed (checked) by your line-manager before issue to the client or HMRC.

Desired qualifications
A minimum of 5 GCSEs, which must include Maths & English grades 9-5 (A-C) (Essential)
A minimum of 2 A Levels, grades A to C (Desirable)
The position might also suit a first year undergraduate who has decided to pursue an alternative career route and earn while they learn. However, attitude is of equal importance to aptitude.

The office is close to Chippenham Train Station and is easy to get to if travelling from Bath or Swindon.
