A brief overview of the role:

We have an opportunity for an apprentice to join our team and work towards gaining an STL Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Vacancy Description:
• To work in a nursery setting with children aged 2-5 years.
• To assist staff in the care and educational needs of the children.
• To work with staff to plan and prepare the learning environment.
• To gain experience and knowledge to support theoretical studies
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have the ability to work both under instruction and independently using initiative. They will demonstrate high levels of professionalism at all times. The candidate will be reliable with excellent time keeping. They will have good communication skills and have the ability to work as part of a team.
The successful candidate will have a calm, caring and patient nature who can respond to the needs of the children. They will have excellent manners and be friendly and respectful to children, staff and parents.

- Establish good working relationships with pupils acting as a role model.
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievements and progress.
- Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.
- Work as part of a team appreciating and supporting the role of other people in the · team
- Support the change process, remaining positive during times of change.

Desired qualifications
- Level 2 qualification in Maths/numeracy and English/literacy.

- Willingness to undertake appropriate first aid training.

- General understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/techniques.
- Basic understanding of child development and learning.
- Ability to relate well to children and adults.
- General awareness of inclusion, especially within a school setting.
