A brief overview of the role:
This position will be working as a member of the pre-school team, showing initiative and creativity to foster an environment which encourages the children’s all-round development and where high standards of care are provided.
Given the rural location of the School this position would ideally suit a driver or someone who lives in the local area. Please consider how you would travel to and from the site before applying.
Vacancy Description:
- Apprentice will be working with a small group of pre-school children alongside a classroom teacher
- Working with children on play focused learning activities
- Preparing resources
- Be a reliable member of a team, working co-operatively and with flexibility
- Observe each child’s progress and report on achievements, looking for progression and continuity.
- Develop excellent communications with parents/carers, encouraging them to participate in their child’s progress and development
- Assist with the creation of a stimulating and attractive environment
- Assist with the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the pre-school
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Participate in all self-development activities, including appraisals, etc.
- Develop positive relationships with other staff working within the pre-school
- Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the pre-school
- Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures, e.g. fire procedures, routines for dropping off and collecting children
Essential Skills
- Have good ICT, Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Be a good communicator
- Be able to work flexibly and independently, adapting to changing circumstances.
