Everyone learns differently. That’s why we personalise the learning journey to match your unique cognitive profile. Science shows that intelligence isn’t one-dimensional; it’s a combination of many cognitive abilities, each with its own strengths and challenges.

 

And that’s a good thing. Cognitive diversity brings fresh perspectives, innovation, and stronger problem-solving. By understanding how your brain works, you can collaborate more effectively with your tutors, make smarter decisions, and take control of your learning journey—unlocking the outcomes that matter most to you.

What is Cognassist?
  • Cognassist helps to identify hidden learning needs, personalise support and transform attainment.
  • Working with Cognassist, Hart is on a mission to help every learner reach their full potential through cognitive assessment.
  • A cognitive assessment provides insight into how your brain works. It’s a chance to learn something about yourself and the way you experience the world.
  • The approx. 30-minute computer-based assessment will measure your functioning in the 8 below cognitive domains.
  • The assessment will take place during enrolment onto your apprenticeship
  • After completing the assessment, we can determine in which of the 6 areas you function at a high level and in which you may function below the average level.
  • Knowing this information will help you Learning Coach to support and work with you in a way that best suits you and allows you to meet your full potential.
  • The outcome of the assessment will NOT impact your place on the apprenticeship.
  • If you ‘match’ for any of the 8 cognitive areas, you will be given the option to work through some learning activities that will help you build strategies to work more effectively in your academic studies, with support from your Learning Coach. This will also support your effectiveness in the workplace.
  • If you do not match, we will provide you with the outcome of your assessment and feedback on the assessment. There will be no need to further engage with the Cognassist platform beyond this.
