Careers Advice and Guidance
Whether you’re a school leaver looking towards your next steps, an employee looking to change direction, or you are moving towards the end of your Apprenticeship qualification, it’s only logical that you may be considering your career future and wondering where you go from here.
Here at Riverside Training, we want to ensure that you have all the tools available at your disposal to help you navigate the transition from Apprentice to Professional.
Below is an overview of additional support we can offer to help you feel confident and equipped to take those next steps with ease.
CV Building
As you move away from your Apprentice role, it is vital that you have a professional CV available to enable you to confidently apply for roles that you feel would be suitable. We can work with you to help build a professional CV that contains all of the elements an employer would be looking for whilst talking positively about your skills as an employee and your qualities as an individual.
Sector-Specific Information Session
We hope that your Apprenticeship has been valuable and the skills you have picked up in your chosen industry have only grown your desire to continue in the same direction. Having said that, it is perfectly natural for you to want to explore different employment sectors and learn more about some of the options available to you. If you feel this would be of interest, we can provide sector-specific information to help you make an educated decision on any potential change of direction.
Sectors Include:
- Business and Finance
- Schools and Education
- Retail
- Sales
- Hospitality
- Manufacturing
- Legal
- Healthcare
- Dental
- Sports Coaching
Interview Skills
Navigating interviews can be a tricky and often stressful time, so it’s important to have a full understanding of the expectations and questions that you may be facing. We can offer one-to-one interview preparation covering everything from basic questions, body language, competency questions, and techniques such as the STAR method to help you make the best impression and outshine the competition. We can even tailor it to specific job roles.
Disclosing Information
If you have a health condition, disability, or criminal background that you are concerned about sharing with a future employer, we can support you in understanding what you should disclose and what you are required to disclose. We can also help you put together a disclosure plan document to give you the confidence to speak about things openly and in the right way.
